There are different techniques for associating with mailboxes on our platform. We generally prescribe IMAP as that helps keep messages in a state of sync between different devices and our webmail system. This is our suggested setup for Thunderbird mail clients.
Incoming Server ("Account Settings" > "Server Settings")
Server Name: imap.stackmail.com
Username: Your email address
Port: 993
Connection security: SSL/TLS
Authentication method: 'Normal password'
Outgoing Server (SMTP)
Server Name: smtp.stackmail.com
Port: 587
Authentication Security: STARTTLS
Authentication method: 'Normal password'
Username: Your email address
If you use domain branded server names, for example, mail.your-domain or imap.your-domain , the protected connection may throw an authentication warning because of a typical name mismatch. This can be securely trusted and your connection will stay secure.
