I can't connect via FTP, what can I do?

There are a couple of basic reasons why you may not be able to connect successfully via FTP.

1. Make sure you're using the right hostname

If you've not changed the nameservers to point to Hamro.Cloud, you'll have to use an alternate hostname to connect through FTP:

For Linux and Windows, you can use: ftp.Hamrocp.com

For WordPress you can use: wordpressftp.Hamrocp.com

2. Ensure you have the FTP DNS record

If you've made any DNS changes you have to sure that you have a CNAME from:

ftp.yourdomain.com - > CNAME - > ftp.Hamrocp.com (or wordpressftp.hamro.cloud on the WordPress stage).

Without this CNAME you won't probably connect using ftp.yourdomain.com.

Please note DNS changes can take roughly 1 hour to engender.

3. Ensure FTP is unlocked

At Hamro.Cloud we use a FTP lock system to guarantee FTP must be accessed to when required which greatly reduces the risk of trade off to a hosting  package. You'll have to ensure this is unlocked to connect by means of FTP, to do this:

Sign in to Hamro.Cloud

Select the hosting package you need to unlock FTP for from Manage Hosting

You would then be able to choose to unlock FTP by time, or by a particular IP address.

At the point when FTP has been unlocked you'll be show the time the unlock  expires and the alternative to lock it again.

4. use the right password

Ensure you are using the right password! You'll have to use the password that is situated inside the FTP Details section of the package.
